During production, the operator only has a monitoring function over the automation, intervening only now and then as needed for creative optimization.

The feature-packed CamBot.remote PRO control software, combined with additional embeddable technologies such as talent tracking, provides individual users with full control and programming depth in an intuitive and transparent manner. The operating philosophy enables even inexperienced and new operators to get started quickly and easily, regardless of the complexity of the system to be controlled.
The use of a robotic camera system offers many new possibilities to bring dynamic into the production. Depending on the system used, you are able to move the camera absolutely freely in space and make no compromises in terms of repeatability and cleanliness, as is the case with a conventional cameraman.
Robotic actions can be planned completely and in every detail in our software. Any number of moves and presets can be stored in order to be replayed exactly and as often as desired. Depending on the production, it is possible to completely dispense with camera operators. Through the possibilities of the software can still be creatively intervened – the control remains with the operator.
A moving, robotic camera system, especially in a spatially limited studio application, normally brings with it a non-negligible risk in the form of possible collisions. Our system offers the best possible protection and prevention options. We divide collision detection and avoidance into two instances. The first is software-based and provides a precise, live graphical simulation of the controlled systems and the environment. The software automatically avoids collisions with the environment, both during manual operation and when calculating travel. In most systems on the market, the second instance is carried out elaborately in the studio or on the robotics side by means of sensors or light barriers. In the case of our system robot KST-UR10, a collaborative robotics system, this instance is completely unnecessary, since the robot stops automatically and without risk of injury in the event of a collision.
CamBot.system offers as core a freely scalable and stackable server system, which controls the individual peripheral devices and manages the system. Both the servers among themselves and the clients, which provide the operator-side interface with control software and hardware, are connected via IP. It does not matter whether it is a local connection or a remote connection via the Internet. The system can therefore also be operated decentrally across several locations.
The CamBot.robot module includes the robotics integrated into the system. CamBot offers integration interfaces to almost every well-known manufacturer, so that all paths are open to the customer. The robotic camera system can take on any complexity, from PTZ cameras or pan-tilt-heads, to rail systems or complex robotic arms, to large video cranes, cable systems or even drones. Here, CamBot serves not only as a simple remote control of the respective controller, but calculates and controls the entire kinematics. This allows an unparalleled influence on the type of movement and cleanliness of the system. Depending on the accuracy of the system to be controlled, CamBot also offers the possibility to generate tracking data for the system for use in AR and VR systems.
CamBot.control is the freely scalable and stackable server system that forms the core of CamBot.system. The server architecture manages not only all performance-heavy processes, such as the calculation of kinematics and collision avoidance, but also the interfaces to the individual internal and external systems. CamBot.control offers exemplary redundancy possibilities, so it is ensured that also a 24/7 operation without downtime, is guaranteed as far as possible. The server system can be freely set down, the communication of the servers among each other takes place only via IP, thus, depending on the connection, it can also take place over large distances, so that a remote production is also possible.
CamBot.remote is the operator-side interface. This is divided into the software CamBot.remote Production (short Pro) and the operator hardware. Here, for example, our CamBot Remote Panels RP1 and RP2 but also various systems from third-party manufacturers are available. For example, the Panasonic AW-RP150 or the Kairos Operator Panel can be used for operation. The operator station connects as a client to the central CamBot.control server system. The number of server or camera systems as well as the number of clients is unlimited. It is therefore possible to handle even large multi-studio and multi-direction installations as a fully integrated overall system. At the same time, CamBot offers flexible user management and pooling functions in order to manage the overall system efficiently and to give the respective operator access only to the elements assigned to him. Especially for the use of PTZ cameras, the more affordable software variant CamBot.remote PTZ was recently launched.
With CamBot.light, even complex lighting systems and sceneries can be integrated into our system and controlled centrally. Depending on the system, light settings or even the movements of individual effects and spots can thus be naturally co-controlled by the operator and fully linked to the rest of the overall system.
CamBot.matching allows the control of all camera-side functions. Hereby the functions of a conventional RCP are taken over by the software and can be stored preset-related and controlled automatically. It is therefore possible, for example, during a camera movement from indoor to outdoor areas, to seamlessly track the aperture, white balance or other settings of the camera as a controlled, programmable axis.
With CamBot.graphics we have created a feature-rich interface to on-air and VR graphics systems, such as Reality by Zero Density. Thereby it becomes possible to automate and control all aspects and settings of the graphics from CamBot. This can be prepared animations of AR objects, the manual control of AR objects themselves or the content on background screens. It is also possible to use pure virtual cameras like real cameras with manual control and programming.
