IBC2023 ended this week. This year, KST was once again a partner of software manufacturer Zero Density and presented a phenomenal technical setup as co-exhibitor at booth 7.B01.
In addition to two control desks with two Kairos systems from Panasonic and a CamBot®.system with two operator seats from KST Moschkau, the following systems were also in use at the booth:
- four cine cameras
- one studio camera (PLV100 from Panasonic)
- three PTZ cameras (one UE160, two UE150 from Panasonic)
- three robotic arms (KST-UR20, KST-H20 and KST-SFA20)
- one KST-PT100 robotic pan-tilt head
- a robotic pedestal from Blackcam
All signals were transmitted via ST-2110, with an (for a booth) impressive total of 140 signals.
This year, for the first time, the KST team split into a show team and a demo team.
The show team oversaw the hourly program demonstrations by the moderator Chris King Perryman as well as the presentations by the partners, who were invited to talk about their implemented technologies at the Zero Density booth. The demo team was thus able to fully concentrate on the visitors and perform individual demonstrations with the third robot.
The KST-SFA20 as well as the KST-UR20 were presented for the first time at the IBC. As a high-speed robot, the SFA20 is particularly suitable for beauty shots or complex high-speed and slow-mo recordings, for which the keyframe-based editor of CamBot®.remote also offers a wide feature set beyond the usual live broadcast application. With its arm reach of seven meters, it can also be ideally used in particularly large studios.
Just like the -H20, the KST-UR20 is a cobot and can therefore be used in the direct vicinity of humans without any special safety requirements. At the same time, the UR20 with its 20 kg payload and 3.5 meter range is currently the largest and most powerful cobot in the portfolio.
Besides many interesting conversations with new faces, the team was also happy to meet old acquaintances, one or the other of whom left the booth with a KST tattoo!
