KST Moschkau becomes main support dealer for the tracking system EZtrack in the DACH region.
EZtrack is a tracking system that can be used to track cameras and actors in order to implement VR and AR applications. The system, which works very precisely and is easy to set up, is particularly suitable for virtual studio productions.
For less than 10,000 euros, the manufacturer offers a practical system with a basic feature set that can be used to get straight into production. That is much less than other tracking systems.
The manufacturer promotes EZtrack as a plug-and-play solution and offers a case that includes the core unit, position tracker, cables and encoders for lens data acquisition, and mounting accessories. Software is also required.
An app for mobile devices is also available for operation. The system is said to be installable within 25 minutes, and auto-calibration takes only one minute, according to the manufacturer.
The core unit measures 200 x 150 x 65 mm, is equipped with a V-mount on the bottom and can be mounted directly on the camera.
The manufacturer promises full compatibility with cine and broadcast cameras and also compatibility with render engines from Zero Density, Unreal, Kinetic Modulo, Aximmetry, Ventuz, Pixotope, Unity and Vizrt. In principle, the system works without markers, but according to the manufacturer, it is possible to combine and cooperate with other marker/tracking technologies, such as those from OptiTrack, Manus, EncodaCam, Vicon, Antilatency, Panasonic, Qualisys, Tundra Labs and Vive.
The manufacturer of EZtrack is the French company Oaro. Recently, KST Moschkau and Oaro concluded an agreement on the basis of which KST will be the main support dealer in the DACH region for EZtrack from August 2021.
“In addition to the very low-latency workflow, the high compatibility, for example with PTZ cameras on the one hand, but also with VR systems such as zero-density reality on the other, is a strong argument in favor of EZtrack,” explains Axel Moschkau, CEO of KST.
